Mr. DJ Jeyaram provides legal services to a wide variety of healthcare providers including physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, and nursing homes. Mr. Jeyaram concentrates in healthcare regulatory matters, primarily in administrative appeals, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and program integrity audits and investigations.

Mr. Jeyaram has significant experience appearing before the Composite State Medical Board and the Department of Community Health, representing more than 70 pharmacies against state audit and recoupment actions. In addition, he has represented several healthcare providers before the Office of Regulatory Services and the Department of Health and Human Services. Mr. Jeyaram's practice also includes assisting clients with EMTALA and HIPAA issues, Certificate of Need (CON), Letters of Non-Reviewability (LNR), acquisition and opposition, as well as negotiating business, employment and contractual relationships between healthcare providers.

Prior to establishing his own practice, Mr. Jeyaram was with Morris, Manning & Martin in the firm's healthcare group. In addition, Mr. Jeyaram's experience includes serving as the Deputy Director for Legal Services with the Georgia Department of Community Health and as an Administrative Law Judge with the Office of State Administrative Hearings.

While an Administrative Law Judge, Mr. Jeyaram's cases centered on Medicaid/DCH provider reimbursement, and he had primary responsibility for all healthcare provider litigation including program integrity issues, medical necessity and utilization review.

Mr. Ben Anderson represents healthcare providers in a variety of matters, including corporate and compliance issues, government investigations and administrative appeals, and litigation. He has significant experience representing healthcare payors, hospitals, nursing facilities, physician practice groups and individual healthcare practitioners in both Georgia and Florida courts.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Anderson practiced at a major Florida law firm specializing in the representation of healthcare providers. While in Florida, he developed an expertise in representing physicians in licensure disputes before the Florida Department of Health.

Additionally, Mr. Anderson also spent time in government practice with the General Counsel Division of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH). While at DCH, a majority of Mr. Anderson’s work pertained to Medicaid reimbursement issues involving a variety of different long-term care providers including hospices, home health providers, nursing facilities, personal care homes and support coordination agencies.

Finally, Mr. Anderson’s achievements in healthcare law are not limited to his time spent as a practicing attorney. During his tenure in law school, Mr. Anderson served on the Note Selection Committee of the American Journal of Law and Medicine.

Ms. Jill Shotzberger represents healthcare providers in a variety of matters, including corporate and compliance issues, government investigations and administrative appeals, and litigation. She has significant experience with the administrative appeals process and the adjudication of Medicaid reimbursement claims in Georgia.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Shotzberger served as the Senior Staff Attorney for the Office of State Administrative Hearings. She advised the central panel of Administrative Law Judges on compliance with agency rules and regulations and served as point of contact between OSAH and the Department of Community Health on cases pertaining to managed care, state and federal Medicaid and Medicaid waiver programs. Ms. Shotzberger has extensive experience conducting pre-hearing settlement negotiations between state agency representatives and private parties. Ms. Shotzberger has also developed and taught a statewide training program on trial techniques and the presentation of evidence in administrative hearings.

Additionally, Ms. Shotzberger is a trained mediator and served as a Hearing Examiner, conducting administrative reviews of petitions for involuntary habilitation and treatment from the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities.

During her tenure in law school, Ms. Shotzberger served as the Managing Editor of the Baker Journal of Applied Public Policy and Articles Editor for the Tennessee Journal of Law & Policy. Ms. Shotzberger also held the position of President of Law Women and received the University of Tennessee Woman of Achievement Award and the National Association of Women Lawyers Award.

Ms. De Simone is Of Counsel with the law firm of Jeyaram & Associates, PC. She has experience providing legal services to a variety of clients in the healthcare industry including hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, hospices, diagnostic imaging centers, and ambulatory surgery centers. Services have included assisting clients with general operations, Certificate of Need (CON), contract negotiation and enforcement, reimbursement issues, physician relations, HIPAA issues, and regulatory compliance. She has also provided general litigation services, including representing the Georgia Department of Community Health, in satisfying Medicaid liens.

Prior to joining Jeyaram & Associates, Ms. De Simone served as Associate General Counsel for the Grady Health System. As Associate General Counsel for Grady Health System, Ms. De Simone represented Grady Health System in corporate transactions and contracts, labor and employment litigation matters, regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse prevention, privacy and HIPAA. She drafted, reviewed, negotiated and monitored corporate agreements, including joint venture agreements, construction agreements, financing and credit agreements, grant agreements, non-disclosure agreements, clinical trial agreements, affiliation agreements, lease agreements, service agreements and purchase agreements. Further, Ms. De Simone defended Grady Health System in civil litigation matters and supervised litigation matters handled by outside counsel.
